Our Sustainable Values
We are deeply mindful of the impact our business has on the environment and of our responsibility to work with, rather than against, the natural world. We recognise that resources are finite, and we do our best to preserve them wherever possible. As a small business, we stay closely connected to the materials and methods we use, always striving to minimise waste. No scrap of fabric is ever thrown away, no matter how small — even the tiniest pieces usually find a home in one of our projects.
Our wooden blocks are handcrafted using rescued wood, which we feel brings our designs to life and makes each piece truly unique. Every block is individually designed and made by Mr F using a small number of woodworking tools. There is real joy in working with rescued wood, knowing it has been saved from landfill and given a new purpose and identity.
The fabrics we use are carefully chosen for their quality and sustainability. These include vintage linen, vintage cotton, and 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton. The blanks for our Experience Boxes are made from 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton by a women’s co-operative in India. Our Experience Boxes – Bunting are made using cotton, with the option to choose 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton.
All of the lavender used in our lavender products is grown in our own garden and harvested by hand each year.
Our handmade-to-order products and individually curated Experience Boxes are created in collaboration with you. We love exploring your ideas and seeing how they might be brought to life as handcrafted blocks by Mr F. As each block is made by hand, we do always note that some designs may not be possible — but this is part of what makes each piece so special.
Our Fabric Gift Bags and Fabric Gift Wrap can also be handmade to order, designed around your ideas and created especially for you. These are gifts in themselves — reusable, versatile, and made to be enjoyed again and again.
